Unacceptable Experience at Pearl City Branch. While I’ve had smooth and friendly service in the past for basic transactions, my recent experience at the Pearl City branch was extremely disappointing. When I asked a teller to assist with a more complex issue, things quickly went downhill. Hickam Federal has got to be the worst managed banking system ever. Their phone system is incompetent. It runs you around a circle, then disconnects you. You can never get anyone on the phone without getting disconnected. They are not a twenty four hour banking system. The credit union attempts to look like they support the military, yet if you're deployed or TDY, you will never get them on the phone, and no one goes out of their way to help you. When one branch tells you something and another branch tells you that you were "misinformed," and then the "misinformation" costs you over $2,500 in penalties, it's time to seek another credit union. I would strongly recommend that you avoid doing business with Hickam FCU! There are much more competent credit unions to deal with.
