Was very apprehensive of my preschool age child riding a non school affiliated bus to school. Unfortunately we had no other option in the Plainview Elgin Millville area. We are now at the end of the school year and I can 100% confirm I would NEVER send my other two children to use this service after experiencing what we have throughout the school year. The drivers are excellent and very kind. Every other aspect of this company is horrible. Would not recommend to anyone.
Make sure you tell the bus company, that brings your kids to preschool, the days that school is closed. This company doesn’t keep track of what days kids have school, so you have to call to remind them every week which days your kids needs rides to school. I know it’s a pain but it is do able. I see some late comments here, so I want to add one that explains how difficult their job can be. Today, my 5-year-old missed the bus because he had to pee. We were inside for no more than three minutes, but I found out that their policy is to only wait one minute. We were at the door as the driver pulled away, but did not make it in time. I think they probably do a good job of balancing, but I was frustrated with them today.
For being basically the only public transport available in Northfield they sure don't function at all. Where are the summer hours? It's literally not written anywhere. I'm always sent to voicemail 7 days a week. It's such a waste, and for students who don't have a car and have depended on dial a ride this is a nightmare.
