Easily the best car rental experience I’ve ever had. Everyone was chill, friendly, knowledgeable, and let me know what to expect upfront before allowing me to drive 2hrs to tell me there was some issue and I couldn’t pick up the car. When I had issues with another branch, they fixed them right away. The rates were also great, including very reasonable upgrade pricing and policies.
Made reservation then arrived at counter with no vehicle available. And no one made a communication, instead witnessed dismissive and unprofessional behavior among staff.
Very disappointing experience with Hertz in Iowa City. We had a reservation for 10:30 AM, but it is now 12:00 PM and our car is still not ready. To make matters worse, we received a call on the very same morning informing us that the vehicle we had originally booked was not available. Fortunately, they managed to arrange a replacement from another location, but we are still waiting for it to arrive. This place will rent you a filthy car. I picked up on 5-19-26 and the first thing I noticed was a dirty receipt for a trip to the landfill on the passenger floor mat. I'd later discover sticky stuff all over the steering wheel, a biscoff wrapper next to the driver's seat and crumbs everywhere. They'd clearly phoning it in at this Hertz.
