I rented an electric car from Hertz. A 1 week rental. The car battery died with 12 miles still showing on the dash. I realize I probably shouldn't have let it get down to 12 miles...but in my opinion 12 miles in a $35,000 car...is 12 miles. Not 1.5 miles and D.E.A.D. So dead, it would not longer charge without a Jumpstart 1st.... Huh?? Yeah, this car has a 12 volt battery for such occasions as this. I wish.
