Today i made a reservation on the phone. I was told im all set for 3:15pm to pick up the car. I arranged a ride and drove 45min to pick up the rental. Only to be told sorry its first come first serve there is 4 people ahead of you and we have NO cars!!!! I asked him how thats possible the lady on the phone listed off what was available. He said you spoke to a customer service agent they are trained to tell you we have cars even if we dont so you book the reservation are you serious 🤯

Car I got was fine for the long trip, and the staff at Hertz in Fitchburg were helpful. Hertz didn't have the car I reserved, which seems to be par for the course in the car rental world. They never have your car and technically they "upgrade" you to something smaller and less comfortable for a long trip than the full size sedan I reserved. Why have reservations at all? But, the suv was fine. Got a flat tire on the interstate in Ohio and had to put the spare on to get somewhere safe. Hertz roadside assistance was useless . T... read more
