We went to pick up the car and it was filthy in and out. Did not have time to wait so we took it- washed the windshield so we could see. Then on the drive, the transmission started slipping once you reached 60. When we got to our destination, we called, saying did not feel safe driving it back, and they could not help us. They said the only thing we could do was drive in a tow truck with the tower, 2 1/2 hrs away!! We were only going to be at our location for 1 1/2 days, and that would have been 5-6 hours of it. I had a mixed review. But to the location's credit, the staff was friendly and helpful, which I appreciated. My rental was through insurance, but unfortunately Hertz was unable to provide the class of vehicle I was supposed to receive. To their credit, they tried to assist, and I ended up calling the insurance company to resolve the issue. I was able to transfer my reservation to Enterprise, where I received assistance with securing the correct vehicle without further trouble. We were not given the car we rented thru the app. They didnt even honor the rate that we rented at. Then the car did not have a full tank of gas and after we told them not to bother they told us to “just bring it back with about a 1/4 tank (it was a tad over). They then charged us $45 for 4 gallons of gas. Do not rent here! We wont ever again.
Two times in two weeks I prepaid for a car and was told no cars were available at the time of pickup. I reserved an economy car and was offered a 15 person passenger van instead. If I wanted a car it was an upgrade and I would have to pay double but I could take the van for the same price. Additionally they charged my credit card for two cars I did.t get and I am currently trying.g to get the charges reversed but its very difficult.
