The car I rented was dirty when I picked it up. The cup holders had gunk in the bottom of them and it overall wasn’t as clean as I’m used to with a rental car. I didn’t think much of it and honestly didn’t even think to take pictures. I’m a very laid back person and never have complaints anywhere I go. Huge mistake on my part. When I brought the car back, I was slapped with a $150 cleaning fee. When I argued it, they sent me a picture of the same cup holder gunk that was there when I initially drove away. I’m a grumpy old veteran. I’ve dealt with supply clerks, motor pool shenanigans, and every flavor of “just take it and go” you can imagine. Even they never tried to sell me something this ridiculous. I reserved a Mid‑Size AWD SUV — Hertz lists the class right on their own website. The actual equivalents are things like a Jeep Compass, Jeep Cherokee, Toyota RAV4, Subaru Forester, Nissan Rogue, Ford Escape. After being double charged I was told it was my problem. I didn't receive the car I paid for. The worst part was who I'm guessing is the manager and his disrespect. I watched him argue and treat two people badly because their car smelled of tobacco and Marijuana, the same car I denied because it indeed smelled bad.
