Wife and I rented a vehicle and the day of return our flight was canceled. We called and asked if we could return the car at another airport (charlotte)and were advised we could but there was a $95 fee. So be it, we found a flight and headed that way, we called to let them know and Liz rudely said we couldnt do that. We asked for a manager as we were told 3 hours before that it was fine to do with the fee. This review is specifically for the Hertz for Myrtle Beach, SC located at the airport. I am writing this so people who rent from them are aware of things Hertz SHOULD have told me and how they could leave you having to take an Uber instead of picking up the car you rented. First--they didn't tell me this, but they answer the phone as Hertz/Thrifty. Great experience getting the car worst experience after returning the car. I had a video full tank gas. The whole thing left the keys that morning and then 2 days later I get a charge on my card for $170. I contact them to figure out what’s going on. They say the Hertz company can’t help because the Myrtle Beach location is a franchise. I try to get in touch with the franchise. They say to just dispute the charge so I dispute the charge on my credit card. Turns out they charged me for 10 gallons of gas plus tax plus whatever... read more

Terrible customer service. I will start by saying that I almost never post a negative review but in this case felt it was necessary. I booked a routine car rental for a week in October. When i picked up vehicle i was given a receipt for an estimated charge of $262. My drop off time was 11am on a Sunday. My wife and I had the car back shortly before 11. Boarded our plane at 11:40 and arrived at our destination around 2pm. I noticed my CC was charged $305. I was told it was a 3 hour late charge as i returned vehicle after 2pm.... read more
