Absolutely unacceptable experience with Hertz. I had a fully paid reservation and arrived at the location one hour before their posted closing time, only to find the office completely closed and no staff anywhere to be found. There was no sign, no phone number, no explanation — nothing. Because of this, I couldn’t pick up the car I had already paid for, and now someone arriving from another country at midnight will have no transportation. Reserved a gas vehicle. Took a $40 uber over to pick it up. Arrived and was informed that they have no gas vehicles. What's the point of making a reservation if the reserved vehicle isn't actually reserved for you? If they're not actually going to reserve a vehicle for you they should call it a gamble or at best a prayer or something, since all your doing is telling them "I'll be there at X time, I sure hope you'll be able to provide the service you're advertising when I spend my hard earned money ubering 2 towns over to you... read more
Two reservation back to back 3 weeks apart. This was for a corporate account. 1st time I booked an SUV a week in advance,They only had a Corolla at pick up. 2nd time I booked a full size they gave me a compact electric 1/2 battery. Not reliable at all, like a mad house. Last time renting there.
I didn't pay attention to the 2 star rating before I booked/went. otherwise, I would have avoided this place. I showed up at 4:21 for a 4:00 reservation appointment... the agent notified me that in order to fulfill my rental, he needed more time (they close at 5p) I explained that I'd be stranded, he said come back tomorrow at 10a. I got on the phone with customer support and they luckily led me to Hertz-Revere. Thank goodness that I had a friend willing to drive me 23 mins to Revere.
