Cleveland Downtown office: stay away! I made a reservation on Wednesday 8/12 to pick up a car on Friday 8/14, received my email confirmation. I’m thinking, good to go. Well, when I got there to pick up my car, I was informed that my reservation was cancelled!! Hertz cancelled my reservation because they had NO CARS! I did not receive any notification. I had a reservation and arrived 5 minutes early. I then sat 20 minutes in an empty office waiting for someone to arrive. When an employee finally showed up, I was told I’d have to wait an additional 75 minutes for a car. And he didn’t really seem to care or offer to help. I get that things sometimes go wrong. The worst rental experience of my life— car was not ready when i came, it smelled of smoke, interior was so filthy dirty I literally had to stop to vaccum it because it was disgustingly unusable. Worst part is tire was continuously loosing air and had to reinflate 4 times while i had the car. When I came to return the car no one was there at the counter for a long time and had a flight to catch— literally a disaster after disaster. Worst run hertz ive ever been to. Try to avoid at all costs.
