Never again! At pick-up, the car was missing motor oil – the employee just told us to “refill it ourselves.” At drop-off, the car was checked and no damages were found. A week later, they suddenly claimed they had lost the key, and shortly after, they charged our credit card for an alleged damage. Only then did we receive photos of the car on a lift, showing supposed damage underneath – something that was never visible during the normal return process. Beware!!!! One of the Worst Car Rental Company!!!!! Formal Complaint Regarding Unsafe Rental Car – Polestar EV (Rego: 383HZ4) Pick up Date: 30/08/2025 (Time: 12:04pm) The rental car, a Polestar EV, had serious safety issues with the steering wheel. It rattled badly and there was a whining noise whenever the car reached a speed of over 85 kph, particularly while I was driving on the highway. Hertz hired out a car to me with the wrong rego plates on it. They hired out another car with 'my' rego plates on it, which was caught by the police speeding (155kph). The police impounded the speeding car, and flagged my hire car as stolen. First I found out was when the police contacted me. I had the hire car for a week and a half by that time. Hertz sent an employee to my hotel with a replacement hire car that night, which was a base model missing the GPS that I requested. Hertz blamed a previous customer who hired the 2 ... read more
