The car I hired was faulty (Air conditioning was not functioning). And when I returned the car and complained, I was told that because I didn't call them immediately to advise, that they would not provide any compensation. Extremely poor experience and I'm quite shocked at their callousness when I advised them (driving in 33 degree weather is awful)! I recommend any other car hire service other than Hertz, treated like a second class citizen!
The Hertz staff have been very helpful whenever I have needed to talk to them about recent car rentals with them. We have been very happy with the rental cars.

Rent cars that they don't have! Book a SUV and they will offer you a hatch, book an AWD and they will give you a 2WD. Booked an AWD online and happy to pay the extra to get it rather than a 2WD. Arrived at the counter and did the paperwork and just found that the car that they were giving me was a 2WD. Told them that I am paying the extra to get a 2WD but they said that this is the only car they have. Don't trust this company as they will ruin your plans at the very last minute.
