My experience with the hertz rental counter at ILM and Hertz Corporate was beyond unacceptable - it was downright dangerous. We were given a vehicle where the windshield wiper reservoir had clearly been filled with plain water instead of proper washer fluid. As soon as temperatures dropped, it froze solid. That meant no way to clear the windshield while driving in winter conditions. Anyone who has driven on the PA turnpike knows how quickly road spray and salt cover the windshield. My experience renting the car was good. The people at the counter were helpful and the car was nice. I had to return the car a few days early due to an upcoming storm. I was told that because I paid for the car in full upfront, they would not give me any back even though the car was turned in several days early. Had I optioned to pay more and not paid up front, they would have given me some money back. Buyer beware. Don’t pay for the car upfront just to get a small discount. DO NOT RENT at this place. It does not seem to be a real Hertz outlet. We were massively scammed by this company. Their lack of professionalism almost ruined a really important family event.

Great experience! I’m was a little worried going into it due to ILM being a small airport, but the front desk person (I forget their name, Ashley maybe?) was so nice and upgraded me to a nicer car and even extended my rental for free.

My father returned his rental on November 28th. The lady at the counter said the computers were down and she couldn’t print a receipt. Then he received a message a couple days later stating the vehicle still needed to be turned in. When he called to figure out what was going on, he explained to someone at the main office that the vehicle had already been turned in and was told someone would look into it.
