Hertz is terrible. They—Hertz corporate, that is—had overbooked. When I went to pick up my rental car last Monday morning, I was told that there were no cars available. I had specifically reserved a Tesla because I was planning a long-distance trip. That morning, they told me there were no electric vehicles left and suggested I take a pickup truck instead, claiming that was the only option they could offer. If I could give zero stars I would. I have been at Hertz Goldmember for decades. Never hesitated to use Hertz for rentals on vacation. And up until recently didn’t hesitate about using Hertz rentals locally. My most recent experience with Hertz, I was given an electric vehicle where the driver seat control was broken, was told by the agent that was the only car they had and implied take it or leave it.
