I pre booked my car rental w Hertz a week in advance and also uploaded my DL, CC and insurance info for a “faster checkout experience.” After my family and I travelled all day to MSP I got to the Hertz rental counter (8pm) and there was NO ONE working, yet a line full of Hertz customers.Dollar, Enterprise and Sixt all had employees working. A sign says ask about your free upgrade. I asked they said certainly if you can wait 1015 minutes I’ll get you an upgrade. I waited 55 minutes and I got a downgrade.

The representative at the counter that I spoke to was very unprofessional. He was trying to persuade me to upgrade my vehicle. So that I would come out of pocket with more money. He also charge my credit card $268 for a security deposit and stated that once the car was returned that I will receive my money back. And it has been 5 days now. And once I received the actual car that I paid in full for,the interior was very dirty.

Reps made Hertz customers wait in line, instead weirdly checking in customers from other companies. Once at the counter, Hertz wasted my time by consumer-unfriendly upselling for insurance, etc. Couldn't leave the parking garage for quite a while because of Hertz screwups and delays that caused a dead stop of the one lane open.
