Our flight was delayed, so I called Hertz Baton Rouge number and the 800 number to inform them so they could leave the key for us. I could never get an answer at the Baton Rouge Airport location and when I finally got a representative at the 800 number they informed me since I booked thru Expedia they couldn't help me. As a frequent Hertz customer, I’ve always appreciated the quality of service the company provides—but unfortunately, my experience at this particular location was the worst I’ve ever had. I’ve never felt the need to file a complaint before, but the level of incompetence and lack of professionalism displayed by the staff at this site was extremely disappointing. Prepaid for an SUV with decent gas mileage. Upon check in I was notified the vehicle was not available. I was charged an additional fee to rent the vehicle that was available. I got a V8 Dodge Ram 2500 that gets terrible gas mileage (18mpg hwy). I am driving 800mi so it will be very expensive for fuel.
When I arrived to pick up my scheduled rental I was told that they had no vehicles. I asked why wasn't I notified before my appointment about it and no one had an answer. Plus now they are charging me for a full 3 days rental even though I did not get a rental. I am currently fighting them about this. Never again will they get my business and I promise I will get my money back. Horrible company that makes the customer a victim of their greed and lack of business etiquette.
Like many others, I made a car rental reservation through a 3rd party website for Dollar and provided them with my flight information. My flight was delayed, and when I arrived at the desk, no one was there. A call to their number stated that they will hold a rental for 2 hours. That is a lie. They also close at 6pm on Sunday.
