Wasn’t told online that I had to leave an excessively large deposit that would not be returned to my Credit Card for several business days Everything else was excellent
Driving to California in 12 hours and they cancel 30 minutes prior to my reservation due to overbooking. Van was still in the lot an hour after closing, book elsewhere if you actually want the reservation honored. Update: the automated review response to a completely unacceptable experience is fitting.
My car was not available when I arrived. The staff at the FBO called Hertz and was put on hold. After waiting we went to two other companies in search of a vehicle and finally got one at Avis about two miles away. When we came back to the FBO to get our luggage, a Hertz person was there - an HOUR after our flight arrived - with a vehicle we no longer needed because we had a vehicle from another company. Hertz completely let this President Circle member down.
I had a confirmed reservation at this location. When I arrived, the door was locked and the phone just rings and rings. I learned a week later from Hertz corporate that you can only rent a car if you are arriving on a private flight. Utterly ridiculous. Looking at other reviews, this nonsense has been going on for years. It's inconceivable that Hertz allows this situation to continue. Absolutely horrible service. Waited 90 minutes to get a vehicle and they said they don't take Apple cards even though I reserved with my Apple card online so I had to contact customer service online. From the time we went to the Hertz line to when we picked up the car it was well over 3 hours. What a great start to a vacation. We had the vehicle for 10 days and during that time I was driving through a tight alley way to get to our air bnb and the edge of the car scrapped the curbing (planter).
