This Hertz location is the worst I’ve seen and deserves a zero star. It’s running a very poor operation. It’s almost like they’re looking to go out of business. I have rented with Hertz on 14th St. many times before as a Hertz Gold Plus, but this experience was another disappointing and reflects poorly on the brand’s commitment to customer service or respecting regular customers. Set up a rental vehicle through my insurance company to use while our car was being repaired. Called a day before to confirm rental with this Bradenton Hertz location. First call was met with complete silence and a hang up. Called back and David answered. I explained that State Farm had set up a reservation for a rental car at this location. His response was "okay." I asked if Hertz was able to meet at the body shop for pick up, response was a quick "negative, you have to come to the Hertz location to pick up the car." I took an Uber to the location only to be told upon arrival that no vehicles were available, despite having a valid reservation in the system. The representative offered me an electric vehicle and suggested I could exchange it at another Hertz location. When I asked him to call and confirm the exchange, he refused, saying there was no guarantee and that he would not make the call. Aug 8 2025. Made a reservation for pick up same day because my personal vehicle is in the shop. Called and verified the deposit and to let them know I was on my way. I get there and the guy behind the counter says he can't rent me a car,(even though hes looking at my reservation on the computer) because they are out of cars and that theres a 5 day minimum on rentals because they are low in cars. Complete waste of time and effort. Why not mention this when I called or when you get the reservation in the first place?
