We reserved a car for a week at the Champaign airport location. Typically we use National (we’re emerald club members and rent often). However, this time we decided to try Hertz because it was less expensive. The vehicle they gave us was dirty and had not been cleaned well at all. There were crumbs on floors and in seats, stains all over the seats, dirty smudge marks on arm rests from the previous drivers, coffee spills on the doors, etc. It was evident that they didn’t even bother to wipe frequently touched surfaces down. WORST!! If you go to Champaign Airport, use National, Avis or any other but Hertz. I did reserve a full size sedan online, went there, on time, and they gave me Chevy Cruze, without any explanation. Something strange I felt, so I asked and they said, "it is not a full size, it is only one we've got cleaned" without any apology. Just said to return it if I didn't want it, also said "what is the problem with the car?" What kind of joke is it? WORST EXPERIENCE!! We went in to get quotes for renting a vehicle to take to Massachusetts for a week and was told by Enterprise that it would be about $630 (I’m under 25 so it’s usually more expensive). We thought that was pretty high so we went to Hertz to get a quote. She told us it would be $385 including additional driver and underage fees (we made sure she knew I was underage) so we went ahead and booked. We rented a van for an overnight trip from the Champaign airport location this past weekend . When we picked up the van Boone came out with us to look over the vehicle , they just said your van is out there go find it . After we got in a man in the parking lot approached us and said our tire was low and offered to put air in it . We thought that was all it needed , but no the next morning the tire was low again .
