I have 6 pages of complaints against Heartland of Canton. For my wife's stay there, we informed them that she is allergic to lactose, rice, pork and turkey. Also that she has no teeth and can only eat soft foods. Guess what? They continued to feed her the items she is allergic to, served crispy hard foods that she can't eat, and it was cold! Coffee was cold, soft drinks and water HOT. They really have it backwards! I had to bring her food from home so that she didn't starve while there. My Granny spent a few months there and she said she felt everyone was nice. She has been in other nursing homes that were awfull. she needs to go back for some rehab after surgery and we asked that she be sent to this one. This is a nice, clean place that doesn't have that depressing nursing home "smell". They are treated like they are in the hospital, with only two people in each room. The rehab people are very nice.

My brother was in this facility far too long. Substandard care - waiting for assistance for pain, sometimes for hours. Never could get a straight answer to questions and administration always seem to be trying to dodge the bullet. If you care about your love one - please don't bring them here.

A very beautiful facility but beauty is only skin deep. Administration's philosphy is bottom-line oriented and the care patients receive reflects this. Changing their ideas of appropriate care for patients and staffing the facility adequately would better serve the patients and families.
