I loved Melanie's ashiatsu barefoot massage. Just walking into her space made me feel calmer and happier - smells so nice, relaxing music. She gave me the choice of which essential oils to use. My favorite part was at the end, ashi-thai stretching - that felt incredible and was so effective! She never rushed and was very thorough. I wanted to like it, and I love the concept. I requested ashiatsu but she did minimal. I felt like that would be the most pressure to relieve my lower back tension, and left feeling like I didn’t quite get my money’s worth. Recurring theme for me with massage therapists- they don’t go hard or deep enough and idk how to make them. I tell them I want deep tissue, etc. but it’s never deep enough… still on the lookout for an actual ‘deep tissue’ massage in Roanoke.
