We went to Hayes and were very clear that we wanted solid wood bookcases. They placed an order from an out of state business. When the bookcases arrived 2 1/2 months later they were plywood with veneers. They were very unprofessional when we called and said there was no way we could get our nearly $4000 back. We never would have paid this much for plywood! Be aware that "Real Wood" does not mean solid wood.

Soooo disappointed. Bad cuts, badly filled in knots, sloppy gluing, drawers that won't stay closed, dirty, awkward warehouse. I would NEVER recommended this furniture store. So much potential, but they choose to be lazy and have incredibly low standards in their work. Horrible existence.

If you are looking for well-made, solid wood furniture at an affordable price point, Hayes Unfinished Furniture is the place to go. I've purchased both unfinished and finished pieces from them and have never been disappointed. Each piece was put together with care, including details like dovetailed drawer fronts, that speak to the workmanship of their furniture.
