Sad how this place is deteriating
Great place to enjoy watching horse races and even make a bet or two.
A beautiful historical racecourse, and the last place to watch horse racing live for most Illinoisans, so it's incredibly unfortunate that some random no-name developer is going to demolish this place for "land development" just like what happened to Arlington. I just recently developed an appreciation for watching horse racing, so it's a real bummer that I've only gotten to enjoy the atmosphere at Hawthorne a handful of times. Keep horse racing alive in Chicagoland!
