Do not bank with Hawthorn. They'll up and close an account without any notice. No phone call, no email, etc. One day before my direct deposit was about to be deposited in the account, they deleted it for "suspicious activity." I even secure messaged them and told them what had happened but they cancelled my account already. I just called the bank and they're keeping it closed. Stay away. I'll never bank with them.
Trying to close a personal loan with this bank is an absolute nightmare. Took 3 months to close, plus I lost .25% interest rate during the process. Not to mention, both parties were extremely motivated to close. Inexcusable on all accounts. To follow up, we closed the loan and the wired the wrong amount of money to me the seller! This is getting worse! DO NOT USE THIS BANK!
