I was recommended to Haven Care by a former employee of Haven Care. I really needed a place that could provide 24-hour care for my aunt because she had dementia. The Haven Care facility was a blessing to me and my family. Not only did the facility staff members meet my expectations for care, they exceeded my expectations. When I came over to visit my aunt, the staff was very professional and made me feel like I was visiting family.
My mother lives at the Haven Care Dogwood House in Rio Rancho. It's the perfect place for her because Dimitra, the house manager, is so skilled at helping her have purpose. This is not a "warehouse" for people with dimentia, but rather a place where they can live, contribute, experience and interact. The home is comfortable, clean, and safe, which is important too, but the attitude of staff is to meet residents where they are at and assist them in functioning at their highest level.
My mother in law needed to move in to a memory care facility and we thought it would be horrible for her and the rest of us. But it has turned out to be good for everyone - safe for her and most of all, Dmitra at the dogwood house has been able to help her remain engaged and useful. Diane was a professional social worker and as a resident, she befriends everyone and likes to help with anything that needs done. My Granny lives at the Dogwood House in Rio Rancho, and I love to visit her there! At first, I was nervous because I didn’t know what it would be like, but it’s such a nice home and Dimitra who works there made me feel very welcome. Granny enjoys showing me her garden and we like to sit outside on the patio – the backyard is very nice!
