For $7.50/person to get to Ocracoke on the passenger ferry it's a great price. Due to the ever-changing channels the trip takes 60-70 minutes each way. Staff provide a history of the Pamlico Sound on the way over. Cabin is air conditioned which is essential during the summer months. Outdoor seating available for those that perfect the fresh air. Public bathrooms available. Snacks can be acquired through a donation.
Love riding the ferry.
I hope they remain free. We're hearing rumors of ferry fees. Don't worry, though. Never pay the ferryman until you reach the other side.
