I am an ex care worker of 36 years who has worked in care homes all around Wirral. My husband and I were not offered a cup of tea during our visit to a good friend who is staying at Hartford Hey for respite and I was immediately told off from straying from the conservatory to the hallway so I could find a member of staff to direct me to a toilet, which incidentally didn’t have any type of Hand wash or towels, so I had to use toilet roll instead. My father in law has just returned home after a fortnight’s respite break at Hartford Hey. This is the first time he has had respite care whilst we were on holiday and as such it was quite a momentous event! We cannot thank the staff enough for all they did to make him feel welcome and to look after him during his stay! He has thoroughly enjoyed his time there + is looking forward to possible future stays!
