I had a terrible experience with HardDiskDirect. I placed an order for a DDR5 RAM module, and the price listed on their website was completely misleading. After placing the order, I received an email claiming two issues: 1 - The price shown was actually for a refurbished item, not new. 2 -The item wasn’t even in stock to begin with. Incredibly disappointed. Made an order for 2 SSDs as storage for my food truck. Call a call from a rep a couple hours later doubting that I owned a business and that needed them shipped to the address provided. Wouldn't understand that I can't deliver them to a food truck and felt like I was being accused of lying about my address. Terrible customer service.
Unethical business practices warning: Bait and Switch - Buyer Beware! Ordered a harddrive from their online store , priced at $70 , and received order confirmation. I specified and paid for next day shipping . On the following day, instead of receiving my order , I received an email from Hannah informing me that the price was now $150 due to a “glitch” ( more than doubled ) and I needed to pay the difference for them to ship. Terrible company. Placed an order for a barebone that showed as 'in stock' on their website. After inquiring the next day, I was informed that the item will ship from their 'distribution' network within 1-2 weeks. 9 days later still no shipment. Asked for proof that the item will ship within the next few days or otherwise a cancellation/refund. Got ghosted. Filing credit card chargeback tomorrow. Company was added to our purchasing blacklist.
My company often purchases hard to find, refurbished, and EOL parts from Eric Williamson of Hard Disk Direct. Eric is very responsive, always helps us find what we need, and sometimes able to offer us a discount. We have had a good experience with the refurbished equipment we have purchased. In those rare instances where something did not work as expected Eric has responded right away and quickly shipped a replacement to us.
