I had my personal income taxes done by Mr. Edward Hara last year. He finished them right before the deadline and suddenly upped the previously agreed upon fee by $50, refusing to hand them over until I paid it. Not wanting the hassle of filing for an extension, I just went along and paid it. He insisted the return was "more complicated than he expected and therefore took more of his time". Mr. Hara made a mess out of my taxes last year for my small business, prompting me to switch accountants for this year. He was also very slow to return phone calls, and took a long time to prepare the return. He was also rude when I asked legitimate questions, behaving with a "how dare you question that, it's too complicated and I don't have time to explain, don't you trust me?" kind of attitude, which I now think was to cover up his own incompetence.
