I can't say enough about this store. We are camping in Ruidoso New Mexico and my hiking boots gave out. I have bought all my shoes online since online shopping became a option. I wear a women's size 12 and for hiking and walking shoes I normally have to buy mens. Stores usually only go up to an 11 for women. I looked online and found Happy Hiker. Not only is the owner and her assistant beyond friendly they carry women's sizes up to a 14!!! They spent over an hour with me helping me find the right boot/ shoes and fit. I bough... read more

Visiting the Ruidoso area from Texas, we were shopping the midtown neighborhood. We stopped in at Happy Hiker, had a most pleasant experience with Nathan, the young man working there. He was polite, respectful, and more than helpful in answering our questions, and just making us feel welcome.
