Nick Chotos represented a family member charged with burglary with assault in Hillsboro County and Burglary of a dwelling in Sarasota County. He was psychotic at the time and was grossly overcharged by the prosecutors. After 1 1/2 years, the Tampa charge was deferred to mental health and the Sarasota charge dropped to a misdemeanor. I'm sure Mr Hanlon doesn't remember me. But over 25 years ago he represented (understatement) me on a Domestic violence injunction case. On the first schedule hearing the complaintant never showed. While we were leaving the courthouse the complaintant showed up and refiled for another restraining order.
