I have never in my life met a cashier as inappropriate and unprofessional as the one I met tonight. My family walked in to buy some things. This was myself, my husband, our adult son, our teenage son, and our toddler grandson. The cashier first inspected my ID, questioned me on who my teenage son was, approached my adult son to ask for ID OUT ON THE SALES FLOOR, yelled at my 3-year old grandson, and told my husband not to pull his ID out unless asked. As a local, I am shocked about how rude my mother was treated by Dave (store “manager”). She went in to buy herself a drink (she is 40) and when asked for her ID, she provided it and was told that she also had to provide her height, address and name. He then continued to tell her she did not look her age and that her ID was not hers. We have lived here our whole life and have never had a problem buying a whiteclaw. As a Veteran, I am appalled at Dave that works there was ignorant to ABC laws and needed my 38 year old girlfriends Id for me to buy the beer I was carrying and I was buying. This clown thinks he is captain iD checker. Don’t walk in there if you have anyone without an Id. I asked for the managers number he said it was him. I asked for the owners number, he refused. Was with someone buying a vape and dude working register decided to give us both a lecture about carding in the outer banks. Mind you a 50 year old and a 25 year old purchasing. It's not my fault he didn't think to ask us both for ID.
Me and my son went in waited at the counter while he finished mopping then he came to the counter where he made me wait as i politely did while he wrote his deli item list then asked me what I wanted while my son was picking it his candy. I told him I needed a pack of cigarettes and he told me I couldn't bc I brought my son into the store with me where he then told me I could go to another store and to next time not bring my child in the store with me.
