Excellent products!!
Nothing gullah about it
We stopped in today to the new Gullah Gourmet shop on James Island. What a delightful shop and owner. The owner is a lifelong resident of Charleston and has grown this business from the ground up. Everything is uniquely displayed and created in house. This is a must shop stop! Kudos for her entrepreneurship!
Stop stealing my people culture that shrimp and grits is not the way you do that if your chef is from Charleston then he should no better than that I need show y’all the real charleston shrimp and grits the way the Gullah people cook it you need to talk to chef Bill Green the realist Chef in the low country
DO NOT SHOP HERE! Zero Stars? Can I do zero stars? The owner is NOT Gullah! She has one little paragraph at the bottom of her webpage giving a watered-down allusion to where the name comes from. Is she willing to wear the scars to be named a Gullah woman? I think not! Pathetic. This is cultural appropriation at its worst. Shame on you. DO NOT SHOP HERE! There are real Gullah people who sell soup mixes, seasonings, and other Gullah delights. Support the community that earned this name.
