Only just found out yesterday this great little cinema has closed down after many years. Pretty sure this was the first cinema I ever saw a movie at, and ironically it was the same movie another recent reviewer said: The Lion King. A lot of great memories, many of the movies I saw as a kid were all seen here. To name a few more of many others: Mouse Hunt, Home Alone 3, Shrek, and in more recent years: Everest, Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse, Gran Turismo, Ordinary Angels. Was always nice to have a nice dinner out somewhe... read more
I did luv the cinema for decades, but it CLOSED DOWN PERMANENTLY recently, already has boarded up and preparing for other construction.
All my fondest movie memories were at this cinema - including the very first movie I ever saw in cinema in my life as a toddler back in 1993, “The Lion King”. My family didn’t have much when I was growing up, but we could always count on being able to see a nice affordable movie here for only a few bucks. I am so sad that this cinema is closing today. I hate going into shopping centre carparks to see a movie. Beverly Hills has always been my first choice.
As a local, I must express my disappointment with the cinema here. The seats are outdated, worn, and uncomfortable, and large sections of the screen are obstructed, making the viewing experience far less enjoyable. To make matters worse, the screens are small, and the sound system is unreliable, with certain speakers often not working at all. Given these issues, we've found it worth the detour to visit Hurstville Cinema, where the experience is far superior in every aspect.
