After banking with GTE for thirty years, I closed my account. I need records for tax filing and they won’t give them to me electronically unless I return to tampa to appear in person and pay a fee to receive statements.
When you call customer service, the call is automatically cut off. They have placed an amount of money in my account without motivation, increasing my debt. I have tried to contact them since that increase is completely necessary since I have never had a late payment I have had my insurance up to date. I got a really bad experience with this bank!
I've been with GTE for over 13 years, but i will have to change banks. They stole from me and its taken over a week and they still haven't been able to give me my money back. They took out an insufficient funds fee, when I NEVER HAD insufficient funds. When I spoke to someone on the phone she could find NO REASON for that charge, yet a week later I still dont have my money back, and no one can tell me why.
I agree with other users — the customer service here is completely gone. This company is scamming its customers. There was no notice at all: no phone calls, no mail, no statements about any issues with my account. Recently, I discovered that my account was closed and marked as a charge-off because I supposedly didn’t enroll in e-statements. I was never informed this was required. Wouldn’t bank with this institution. Corrupt banking practices. I made a loan payment on time, ahead of time. They reversed the payment back to my bank. Never alerted me. 3 weeks later I get a letter that my account is delinquent. Of course I log in, pay my account current. Because it was a Saturday evening I had to wait until Monday to speak to someone. They said they reversed the payment because my bank couldn’t verify the numbers. Seriously?
