I engaged lucida consulting to prepare my partnership (1065) tax return for the tax year 2023. I received a billing for such service and was paid for in full in 2024. The invoice they sent me stated that it was for services in connection with preparation of the2023 tax return. At the beginning of 2025 I received a 1099-NEC form showing the amount paid for tax preparation for the year 2023 paid in 2024. This 1099 is required by law.
