I wouldn't even give 1 star. ******* (sp?). She is the worst!!!!I have been using GNCU, since the 90's and have watched it decline for the last few years. I had money deposited and there was a hold on it for 15 days and bills began to bounce and then they charged me a late fee. They have miss calculated deposits to their advantage and then claim they hadn't. They have been unable to provide me access to my money over $3000.00. They each and every one of them provide false information, basically, dishonest!!! They should be c... read more

How long can it take to open a business account with excellent credit. I tried for several months to change from our big bank of many years in ****, ** to ****. I am a medium business transferring several large amounts. The personal account opening seemed to be fine, but the business account NOT so. Mr. ****** ****** had me jump through SO many hoops that are not federally required. Can't GNCU give you a list of all required info., not piecemeal one at a time slowly. The final straw was when I sent a copy of requested *** EI... read more

GNCU is an awful bank. They have endless fees, no one is honest, and you cannot efficiently contact the loan department EVER. If you are lucky enough to get through, no one can help you with your question or they just insist that it was all "calculated correctly". Great, why can't anyone explain it to me then?! I still have a HELOC with them only because it'll cost me a fortune to close it early and they charged me the annual fee and it's accruing interest which seems unethical. My balance on the loan was $0 at the time of t... read more

For a company that states they are for their members they lie. Twice they have mislead and quoted incorrect information. Do not waste your time or have anyone secure a loan with them.

Greater ** Credit Union is truly awful. My GNCU debit card has been compromised, not once, but twice in the last 6 months. I went into the branch both times to cancel my card, and to confirm that no fraudulent transactions had gone through on my account. I was assured that the account was secure, and that no fraudulent transactions had or would go through. Come to find out that a fraudulent transaction did go through, and they are not going to refund me. The Sparks Vista branch manager is unprofessional, dishonest, and shoul... read more

Worst customer service. I received a ********* insufficient fee and an additional $10 fee every day, which ended up being four days total when my payday was going to be coming through. In total, I received 100 dollars I'm total of insufficient fees for a charge that was under .05 cents!

Business response:

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this review. We've researched ************************ account; while our records don't validate the course of events precisely as described, we do find that ******************** has experienced significant overdraft fees recently. Greater Nevada has reversed $210 in fees over the last year, with $140 of those reversed this month. We'd love to review options that could help ******************** avoid overdraft fees in the future. She can contact our *************** Center Supervisor,... read more

Until recently, Greater Nevada Credit Union was a good place to do business with, but here is what I've noticed in changes: Lots of new faces I haven't seen before, and I have had many loans during past years where I would fill out paperwork, get the application approved the next day, and have money no later than the third day. Not anymore. No more filling out a paper application form. This can only be done on the internet. I did just that and waited, and waited, and waited, until I telephoned the loan office. I got a ... read more

Someone committed fraud on my account because I'm stupid and this bank made everything worse. Charged me 40 bucks more on top of the **** that got ripped off. Then kept me locked out of my account for so far 3 days and was told not until Tuesday because of the holiday. Once they release my money I will be going somewhere else. Not fun being victimized more by my own bank. Thanks for making me go hungry Greater Nevada credit union.

In light of all that happened in 2020, I decided to start my own business. I decided to monetize my skills and officially become a freelance writer, singer, songwriter and possible YouTuber. Though I am still fleshing out all that I might do with my business, I decided to incorporate and get a business license with the State of Nevada. By the way, my NAICS Code is 71150, Independent Artists, Writers and Performers (this is relevant later). On July 20 I applied for a business checking account for micro businesses with Greater... read more

Business response:

Thank you for the opportunity to respond. Due to the increased risk of online account opening requests we receive, Greater Nevada’s practice is to make a strong attempt to verify a potential member is actively engaged in conducting business prior to opening an account. Unfortunately, after reviewing Ms. A*****’ website, we could not find sufficient evidence to verify. Our review is intended to identify the amount of content that would indicate an active business, not the nature of such content. Greater Nevada does not partic... read more
