They put a 7 day hold on payroll checks and direct deposit. They claim it's because of fraud but I've never in my life heard of a bank doing this. Especially on direct deposit. If you try to cash part of your check and deposit the rest you cannot, unless you already have whatever you're trying to keep in cash in your account balance prior to the check you're trying to cash.
