I have been with CU1 since 2023 - through a car loan, through the acquisition of GRFCU, and recently through a house purchase! The staff here are knowledgeable and kind, the front desk and service is great, and their lobby/space is clean, comfortable, and professional. Taking business elsewhere! Terrible customer service and awful transition from Great River to Credit 1!! We have a land only loan on our hunting land and I received a notice that the bank was going to put insurance on the property. We have the required rider through our homeowners insurance BUT since someone believes there is a home/structure on the land, they placed ins on it and post dated the insurance back to 10/2025! It's such a small outfit that they can't ever seem to get the electronic side of banking to work. Staff is friendly but it's impossible to get anybody on the phone and their locations are so remote that I will be looking to change credit unions.
Do not get a loan with these crooks. Insane interest rate structures and collect interest off of principal payments.
This used to be a great bank! I've had car loans and mortgages with them, and held larger deposits there. They were awesome, and their people were excellent. In the last year, the culture of the bank has changed a lot, incredibly rude employees, they don't value their members. The billpay is completely 3rd party outside of their jurisdicition and is not their own in-house system. The technology in general here for online banking is stuck in the 1990s. Beware.
