i 100%percent agree with lfn and 120% disagree with lisa. if you are looking into opening a bank account in salina kansas, banking with greatplainsfcu will be a mistake that will cost you your hard earned money! My experience is similar to that of the comments of lfn. through the use of fees, Greatplains fcu helped me wipe out my entire savings taking over half of the money in fees. they made two purchases cost me as much as a spending spree! my final complaint is that of their internet service. Their overdraft protection isnt a protection plan. Its a way for them to steal money from you. When you run your card at most places, especially at a gas station, there is a hold put on your card. So they can test to make sure your bank will cover it. Well, GPFC takes it upon themselves to charge you overdraft fees if the holds go over the allotted amount! Come on really? How am I supposed to know how much a gas station, store, or other place is going to put "on hold?" I feel sorry for those who dont use the online banking.
I am very happy with Great Plains Credit Union. I have been doing business with this bank for almost 15 years. I have had no trouble at all. As for the Joplin branch. It was very hard on every one. The people at Great Plains are there for you when you need them. I am so lucky to have a bank that cares about the hard working people!!!!
