Dateline Dec 2025...I recently purchased a new pair of the Garrison Black Waxed Deer boots. I ordered a size 8.5D to fit my foot size of 10.25 inches. Again they fit like a glove and I only needed to use moleskin a few times to break-in the heel fit. I used the Nov 24 Black Friday sale to buy my first pair of Grant Stone (GS) Edward Boots in Crimson Chromexcel size 9D. I'm normally a size 9.5D in most shoes so I chose a downsize 9D. They were too big with excessive heel slip. GS quickly processed my return for a size 8.5D that fit like a glove. Using some Leukotape P (an alternative to moleskin) to tape my heels, I set off for my first walk using my old Army hack of adding a 1/4 cup of hot water down the back of my heels.
