Hallways blocked with clutter, patients hanging around in doorways without direction looking bored.Foul smell in general.No activities for patients and nothing to engage them. Staff do not look happy. Do NOT recommend
It was suggested I do a “pop in tour” before having a close friend admitted, so glad I did! Hallways blocked by clutter, foul smell in general. Patients just hanging around in doorways without direction. No activities going on, did not see any supervision. Patients did not even engage with each other. Employees I did see looked irritable. Grand Islander is not an acceptable place for anyone. If I could do a ZERO rating I would.
Very helpful with lots of communication. They kept in contact, especially as my dad started to decline. Unlike another nursing home, they did their best to help us with the finances and insurance. They were very compassionate and understanding through our loss.
