Best Kept Secret I wanted something unique and different. I never would have thought to visit Gossypia for a wedding dress. Not only did I get a BEAUTIFUL dress for my destination wedding, but the staff is very good to work with. They are the best kept secret in Old Town!!Other bridal stores around did not give me the personal attention I got at Gossypia! I am a happy bride to be.
Good Bridal Shop This wedding dress shop has a lot of styles of wedding dresses that are some of the most reasonably priced in the area. The staff is pretty laid back and allows you to take your time looking in the shop and trying a variety of dresses on. Unlike other bridal shops that make you feel obligated to buy something or else tell you everything looks great on you, the staff at Gossypia was really honest with me about what worked and what didn't work.
It is unfortunate that in 2019, Black customers are profiled as potential thieves. I am disappointed to hear that my sister in law (after years of spending money in this shop) was followed and watched. While White customers were free to roam the store. The sales associate did not offer assistance and when asked, why the double standard, the associate replies, I’m just following the store policy. Not sure what the policy is, but servicing paying customers was not it.
I HAD A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I WAS BEING WATCHED LIKE A DOG!!! ALL BECAUSE I WAS BLACK!! MY SHOPPING FELT VERY INTENSE!!!! Myself ,Aunt and Sister and son and we was about to buy a few items!!! and this store was highly recommended to us!!!! BUT DON'T GO IF YOU ARE BLACK YOU CAN'T GO UP STAIRS WITH OUT SOMEONE WITH YOU BUT A WHITE LADY WENT WITH NO PROBLEM 🙅🏾🙅🏾🙅🏾🙅🏾🙅🏾🙅🏾🙅🏾🙅🏾🙅🏾
RecommendedI live east of Chicago at the southern tip of Lake Michigan and this is my favorite boutique while visiting my son, who lives in Alexandria. Such a treasure with many of my favorite labels, and their jewelry...sigh! Can’t wait to get back😎
