Since it opened in 1968, Gosforth Pool and Leisure Centre has been one of the city's most popular leisure facilities. We are a family friendly centre with two pools, a two-floor fitness gym, studio and a sauna suite. A bit of an update to my previous review since the gym has now been updated. In a nutshell, I've been coming here for over 40 years and I've never had a bad experience. But I have to be honest... While the new gym equipment is great, the chest fly (an essential for any gym) is constantly out of order. And the Smith machine is the noisiest I've ever used - needs some serious TLC or replaced. Pool water is too cold for kids. Water is yellow colour and my kids say’s pool bottom is so dirty. Changing rooms are dirty and cramped too.
Water temperature consistently too cold. It is extremely uncomfortable and unsuitable for regular use, particularly for children. Disappointing.
