I took my recently purchased Yamaha outboard in for service. The mechanics were very thorough in their explanation of each service item. They also discovered why I was getting a "clicking" in reverse and solved that problem (cracked prop hub). When I asked about the need for a timing belt replacement on my particular model, mechanic Jake said that my particular model usually doesn't need replacement with the number of hours my motor has. I’ve been a customer of Gordon’s Marine for over 10 years, but I won’t be returning. They are consistently overpriced and unfriendly. I was charged over $500 for winterization and an oil change that competitors do for around $300, and quoted two hours of labor for a one-hour job. They also wanted nearly $300 to winterize my jet ski when other marinas charge about $175.
