This shop is the best! I had a kilt made here about 5 years ago and they were so great I went back on my second trip. Gordon and Morgan were both so friendly and accommodating. They spent so much time with my family and me talking about Scottish history, clothing, and just having a good time. Mr. Nicolson was full of great stories and jokes and Morgan was a wealth of knowledge about pretty much everything. They really made us feel at home. Absolutely delightful experience! The staff are gracious and quickly accommodated my desire for a bespoke kilt. Appointments are available online or by stopping in. My wife got a scarf matching the tartan I selected (Monarch of the Glen) and I added a made to order dress sporran.
Very informative and attentive, and yes I bought a complete dress kilt including shoes. Only too about an hour to be fitted and add all the accessories. I was told It would take about 8 weeks to make and ship.
I was in vacation to Edinburgh and randomly stop by Gordon Nicolson shop to have a look and the stuff were so friendly and welcoming explaining each of the options and materials makes me decide to be measured up for two trousers , which they arranged to ship it Internationally to me back home, received on time and measurements is perfect all communication and updates was received by Alainna through Email The best service overall 👌🏻
It started with a relatively poor fitting experience and descended into a frankly awful level of service. Perhaps I expected too much in the beginning but the initial fitting experience was underwhelming. But fair enough. There's not much you can be shown when a garment has to be hand made, maybe i just expected a little salesman patter. But I was told in a November fitting, to book before Xmas for a Late March/Mid April Delivery and I did just that.
