The edition I received was Sheldon Zitner's last collection of poems, The Hunt on the Lagoon, which is an extraordinarily handsome book, beautifully made, and still in print twenty years after his death. When it arrived, it was like a relic from another time. That included the simple but very sturdy cardboard envelope the book was shipped in, which seemed to relay its own folklore. I had to take a photo of it. I could barely stand to recycle it. Goose Lane reminds us of why we love books and cherish to keep them.
