I’ve been really disappointed with this Gong Cha. Last Saturday around 5pm, I ordered an Oolong milk tea made by the guy wearing his hat backwards it was way too sweet, like all the powder had been dumped in. They had to remake my drink. Later at 6pm, I came back to buy another drink, a matcha latte, but instead of making it properly with layers like I saw at another Gong Cha stores, the two girls just blend matcha and milk together. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had buying a drink. The female staff with black-framed glasses seemed like she was in a hurry. I hadn’t even finished ordering, but she kept asking, “Anything else?” with a very impatient attitude 🙂. When the drinks were ready, she just put them down and walked away immediately, turning to chat with another staff member. The overall experience felt extremely unpleasant!
Even during busy times, the team works efficiently so you never have to wait long. The menu has such a great range that there’s something for every mood, whether you’re in for a classic milk tea, a fruity pick-me-up, or one of their special seasonal drinks.
Gong Cha Birkenhead kiosk is hands-down one of my favourite places for bubble tea! Even though it’s a kiosk, it’s set up beautifully – spacious, organised, and designed so you can see the team working their magic. The moment you walk up, the staff greet you with friendly smiles and quick service that never feels rushed. The drinks are always top-notch.
