4 kids per lane per trainer for a 30-minute session (a DAY) minus time to get into the pool and get started is simply RIDICULOUS. Let's do the simple math: 30 minutes - time to actually get started is </= 28 minutes. 28 minutes divided by 4 kids on average per lane = about 7 minutes per child if at all (i.e. minus favoritism from trainer) Can a child realistically be trained in this amount of time? In 2 months of regular training time there my kids cannot float without help SIMPLY RIDICULOUS----I QUIT.

My husband and I live in Closter and were interested in our 5-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son having some beginning swimming lessons, so we enrolled them in the Goldfish Swim School in our town. While we were pleased by the convenient location, cleanness and safety of the facility, and kind staff, this company did not meet our overall expectations. The lessons were too short for the amount of money we were paying and the children could not stay afterward to practice what they learned, which defeated the whole purpose of... read more

Horrible interaction involving another parent going into a fitting room and taking my belongings (phone & wallet) and throwing my daughters swim suit on the floor. The building is clearly too small for the amount of students & parents. Not enough dressing rooms & bathrooms so when class is over there are about 10 different families standing around waiting for a room. Not to mention the old white men that “guard” a specific stall when their child isn’t even out of class. Also had to advocate for my four year old’s class sessi... read more

I sent the email below directly to Goldfish last night, but thought I would share here also since it was such a great experience for us! Lucas came in for a makeup class this evening with Melanie. He was suffering from a Halloween hangover and protested swim class the entire drive to Goldfish. He was chanting "I hate swim class" as we were walking in. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I handed him off to Melanie and apologized for Mr. Crankypants "anti swim" attitude. She said not to worry. He had the best swim class ever!!! She had him swimming d... read more

My daughter who is 27 months started her swimming classes at Goldfish. The instructor are very nice, I also met the supervisor she is great. Yesterday, my daughter saw another mom who looked like her daycare teacher. My daughter was so happy and she raise her arms like she does with her teacher. The other mom was looking at a 27 months old like she was ready to vomit or disgusted. I was really surprised by that look on a toddler. I mean this is just a child.

The staff was great with my kids and I was honestly very happy with the lessons. However, due to scheduling conflicts and health problems, I had to withdraw from the class back in August. Since it was after the 1st I still had to pay for August and I totally understood and followed their protocol to make sure that I would not get charged in September. One of my children could no longer participate in swimming so now the one child that did had "makeup tokens" that I can no longer redeem because he is not enrolled? Now Septem... read more

It's a big scam. They are charging you $25 for a 30 min class for 4 kids in a lane shoulder to shoulder with one instructor. Each kid will only be swimming for 10 mins by the time one kid wants his goggles adjusted and one kid need help to get in the pool, and giving turns to all 4 kids. Also I noticed they start walking the students exactly at the class start time, but they will take them out of the pool 5 mins before the class ends. And my favorite part is they want parents to social distance and you better have your mask... read more

Unfortunately, once you try and leave them, even it temporary, they make it very challenging to quit. You cannot do it online. You have to call them to cancel. They almost never answer when you call, but they are quick to return calls if you leave a voicemail. After that, they give you their last lesson date. Apparently, there is more to the process. Then they send you an email to fill out of cancellation form, which of course, they failed to mention on the phone call. I record all my phone calls and can confirm that ... read more
