David Ruth is an old-school wizard/genius/artist/engineer living anonymously in East Oakland. He and his facility there are underappreciated living, working remnants of the former creative, industrial glory of the second City-by-the-Bay. His body of works span abstract expressionism to contemporary environmental concerns that celebrate and memorialize the facts of geologic time and its processes. David is a one of a kind. Creative, generous and deserving of much greater recognition and appreciation then he has received.
